Essie Gel Couture Review

Everything Beauty, Other, Reviews By Sep 28, 2016

From the house of essie, “inspired by the elite world of couture fashion, melded with technology and innovation, essie gel couture”. Couture quality and design meets high performance technology in 21 brand new shades. Essie Gel Couture offers wear for up to 12 days with impeccable gel like shine. It is a simple 2-step system, apply two coats of colour and one coat of top-coat. No UV or LED lamp needed which also means easy removal as no soaking is required.

What makes this range stand out is the revolutionary, patent-pending swirl stem brush with a tapered cut ensures perfect colour application. It makes application really easy and the formula looks great and solid after two coats.

The collection introduces 21 new shades which are categorized into four colour families and one exclusive gel couture top coat. Each colour family is inspired by couture moments, from the atelier to the after party. similarly, each shade name is inspired by the couture world.

Atelier; embodied by the neutrals
First Look; embodied by the pastels
Fashion Show; embodied by the pastels
After Party; embodied by the deeps

I received two shades from three of the collections.

From the Atelier range… Take Me To Thread which is a stunning blush taupe and the perfect peachy nude Sew Me.

From the First Look range…Beauty Nap which is a grey moss and will look great on tanned/olive skin tones and then a pink Couture Curator.

And finally from the Fashion Show range… Flashed which will get plenty of wear this summer is a poppy electric vermillion and then On The List (another fav) is a punchy tangerine coral.

The curated couture shades retail for R169.95 and the Top coat is available for R179.95.

Essie Gel Couture launched in stores this month and is available at selected Dis-Chem, Clicks and Foschini stores.
