When this beauty arrived I felt quite conflicted about reviewing it, especially as I have numerous times professed my love for the Tangle Teezer brand and when you first glance at this it looks like a possible knockoff. Albeit a very pretty knockoff. After using it I have to say it is most certainly not a copycat and in fact I have found it the perfect answer to what was missing from the Tangle Teezer brand. I find myself reaching for the Tangle Angel Xtreme over the Tangle Teezer brush and full paddle brush when my hair is extremely knotty, when I’ve used dry shampoo and when I apply a treatment to my hair while it is wet.
So let us give the Tangle Angel the spotlight it deserves. It certainly is stunning and with Christmas just around the corner I also think that it’ll make a great stocking filler. At R380 for the Xtreme it is quite a bit pricier than the original (R290) and the Classic (R290). The Xtreme is designed for those with thick hair and can be used on weaves and wefts and extensions. The Xtreme’s bristles are longer and denser which helps with the mega tangles. My hair is quite thick and tends to knot easily when I use products. I found myself struggling with “muisneste” (massive knots at the back of the head) whenever I used dry shampoo, even if I brushed it through. The Tangle Angel Xtreme put an end to that and is pain-free to use.
Tangle Angel is available at selected salons and online at Tangle Angel and Retail Box.
