Last month NIVEA sent over their latest anti-ageing offering. The NIVEA Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Serum Pearls contains Co-Enzyme Q10 which is a powerful active ingredient naturally found in skin, however with age its level decreases. It is also often reduced due to exposure to different external factors such as UV light. Q10 is extremely important and has two main functions: one is that it is in the production of cellular energy which is necessary for the growth, protection and regeneration and the second function is that of an antioxidant which helps our body fight free-radicals.
Aside from Q10, NIVEA Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Serum Pearls also contains two other important active ingredients; Creatine which is known for supporting the energy supply and metabolism in the skin and helping fight the signs of skin ageing.
It also contains an ingredient which I’m sure by now you all know how much I love, Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule that helps to increase the tissues ability to bind water. It’s also fantastic for fighting fine lines and dehydration of the skin.
The patented pearl technology is a unique one and allows the Q10 to be easily available to the skin. The concentrated Q10 Plus Pearls are embedded in a moisturising hydrogel that contains the Hyaluronic acid and creatine. By pressing down the nozzle of the pump-action bottle the gel and pearls are drawn to the dispenser head when the pearls are then broken down and mixed with the gel this activates the mixture when applied to the skin.
I really like how quickly the formula is absorbed once gently rubbed in. I also like that even though you can feel the nourishment it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily at all. In fact it leaves my oily forehead quite matte and extremely smooth.
NIVEA Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Serum Pearls retails for R229.99 for 40mls and is currently available in-store at Clicks and Dischem stores nationwide.
