Eau Thermale Avène kindly sent over some new products to try from their Cleanance range. The Cleanance is designed for those with problem and blemish-prone skin types.
I found the Eau Thermale Avène Cleanance Mask (R249.99) to be one of the most balanced clay masks I’ve ever used. All too often clay masks dry out ones skin which then causes the body to over-compensate and produce even more sebum. Cleanance Mask is gentle but effective. It’s a dual mask in that it also contains micro-particles so as you wash off it turns into a scrub and helps to further unclog pores. The mask itself does a great job of removing excess oil from the skin surface and leaves one with a mattifying effect. I know I’ll be using this mask plenty this summer!
It can be used once or twice a week depending on your skin’s needs.
Eau Thermale Avène Cleanance Micellar water (R299.99) eliminates impurities from the face and does a great job of removing eye make-up too. It contains Monolaurin which helps to regulate the over-production of sebum. I am a huge Micellar Water advocate and am happy to see that this is one of the first designed for oily/blemish-prone skin that doesn’t contain alcohol. Instead of drying out ones blemishes, it focuses on soothing the skin thanks to the rich Avène Thermal Spring Water’s properties.
