To a little girl the world of beauty is a magical place, adult women seem to know all the magic secrets to create a glamorous groomed look and their cabinets are always filled to the brim with lotions and potions. Whenever I opened my mother’s beauty cabinet there would be a vast array of L’Occitane Products scattered amongst the rest so when L’Occitane asked me to share some beauty secrets that I learnt from my mother and ones which I apply to my daily regime it was a perfect fit.

The top three beauty secrets or tips that I learnt from my mother …..

My mother is gracious and elegant, her skin has never given away her age and many people remark on how youthful her skin is, even in her 60s. This is because her most important belief is that one’s skin is their canvas and it should always be cared for. Aside from sunscreen, taking her omegas and consuming plenty of water, she always instilled in me that a good quality face cream is a vital part of any woman’s daily regime.

Never qualm about “wasting” money on an effective face cream since your skin is your investment she would tell me.

Immortelle Divine Face Cream which I previously reviewed over here Has always been a firm favourite and after testing it out for myself I can see why. It helps to tone and firm ones skin as well as create a youthful glow.

We all have heard the old adage that hands give away ones age but dry hands and cuticles always create an ungroomed appearance and wherever we go my mother always has a tube of Shea Butter hand cream in her handbag. This is something I now do too. This best-selling hand cream sells so well because it really works. It absorbs fast too making it great for women in the modern world of touch screens, we all know how annoying a greasy hand cream can be.

In the words of Coco Chanel… “A women who doesn’t wear perfume has no future”. A beautiful fragrance can evoke so many emotions and change ones mood. My mother always wears perfume, even if she isn’t going anywhere because a perfume plays such a role in feeling groomed and put-together. Her signature scent is the Pivoine Flora EDT . A fresh green floral with notes of bergamot, grapefruit, peony, rose, sandalwood and white musk.

L’Occitane have a wonderful selection of Mother’s Day offers on their online store this month.
