There are many ways to spoil ones mum this Mother’s Day but a personal favourite of mine is to take her (or your aunt/grandmother/special mother figure in your life) to high tea. High tea is an extravagant affair and one that certainly makes everyone feel special.
For high tea enthusiasts there are a wide range of places to go in Cape Town and even in the Winelands… My top two would have to be the Mount Nelson and The Table Bay Winter High Tea, full review over here.
The Table Bay High Tea transports one back to a bygone era with its classic interior, piano man tinkling away in the background and a wide selection of indulgent treats both typical of an English High Tea as well as dishes that are traditionally South African.
