Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging and Intensive Repair Eye Serum

This month Elizabeth Arden launched their Prevage Anti-aging + Intensive Eye serum. I am currently very into eye serums as I have noticed a scattering of fine lines appearing around my eye area over the past year. The complete removal of any wrinkles can only be done by Botox and fillers but a good eye cream with powerful ingredients can certainly reduce the appearance of fine lines and help prevent any from appearing. In your early/mid twenties skin dehydration plays a huge role. Which can be caused from sun damage, smoking and alcohol. This means your mid-twenties and early thirties are the perfect time to incorporate some anti-aging fighters into your skincare routine.

The formula is a feathery light formula with a subtle gold shimmer to it and very delicate scent, it absorbs quickly and once patted onto the delicate eye area it won’t budge or glide at all. I also noted how much softer my eye area feels and after two weeks of continuous use the skin most definitely feels stronger.

I always scrutinize eye creams tremendously as many brands simply reformulate their face creams and repackage them as eye creams with a higher mark-up. In Elizabeth Arden’s case this is a powerful little eye cream and one designed specifically for the eye area.

So what is in this powerhouse? Well, for immediate benefits there is Idebenone, Arazine and Thiotaine which are a blend that neutralizes and protects against free radical damage. The Moisture Trap Technology is a complex of hyaluronic acid, barley and sea plant extracts that work to lock in moisture (a massive benefit for me). Optical diffusers and soft focus silicones deliver a soft focus effect to scatter light and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for immediate bright and luminous skin.

With continued use the antioxidant blend will continue to help improve the visible signs of aging caused by free radical damage and cellular inflammation over time. Biometic peptide blend and Retinyl Linoleate even skin tone and support the skin’s own natural collagen. Finally another trio that I am happy to find in the formula is Vitamin B3, Masterwort and Ash Tree Bark Extracts which reduce puffiness and dark circles as well as increase skin radiance.

All together Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging and Intensive Repair Eye Serum covers all aspects making it a great product for anyone concerned with fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area but I think it is excellent for those beginning to use eye creams as well since it covers the dark circles and puffiness too. I have finally found an eye cream suitable to my age and skin type so will certainly be purchasing this when mine is up.

Price wise is retails at R985 for 15ml, which yes is rather pricey for a first eye cream but with the airless pump dispenser and only needing one pump for both eyes it certainly does last and you know the ingredients will stay as potent from start to finish thanks to the design.
