Last week I attended the Catrice launch, Catrice is a fairly new brand to South Africa and is the older sister of Essence. I have used many Essence products but never tried Catrice so this was a fabulous introduction to a really good, very reasonably priced and broad range brand.
With the gorgeous and super sweet Cindy-Nell Roberts (Former Miss SA now turned business woman) |
There is an overwhelming number of great products to try and we were all treated to an insanely awesome big goodie bag so I got to try many of them. Will just mention a few must-haves.
The nail polishes (Ultimate Nail Lacquer) come in 18 different shades and are a bit on the thicker side which provides good coverage, they also have new, flat professional brush for easier application.
L-R 204 Sold Out Forever, 690 Fred Said Red, 710 Dulce & Havanna R34.95 |
I am currently going through an “eyeshadow phase” where I want to try as many shades as possible and adore mixed palettes, for this reason the following appealed to me.
The larger palette is The Sydney Collection (how cute of the different colours names) and the other two are from the Intesif’eye Wet and Dry Eyeshadow range R49,95. |
The Sydney Collection is one of four cities in the Big City Life range, a really beautiful line that I would love one of each there is the Berlin Collection, the New York City Collection and the London Collection consisting of the eye and cheek palette and one shade of nail polish.
I cannot wait to try them all out and will do a follow up post with different looks soon.
A mention must be made regarding their lipsticks (only R54.95) they are surprisingly long lasting and come in great colours will be featuring one in an upcoming outfit post.
The younger of the brands Essence has many gems too, I got this gorgeous eyeshadow palette from their Vampire Love range and heard only great thing about the lip stains.
I also tried out Essence’s nail art Special Effect Topper over my current polish.
Overall I think that it is great that we are finally able to get the Catrice brand in South Africa, the products are very good quality and at such reasonable prices I will definitely explore the different lines more. The only products of theirs that I wasn’t a hundred percent happy with were the mascara’s but I tend to be very picky when it comes to mascara’s and am still searching for the ultimate one.
