I was recently flown up to Joburg for the launch of PCA Skin. I’d admittedly never heard of the brand before but PCA has been around for as long as I have! Founded in 1990, PCA (Physicians Care Alliance) is a global organization serving over 8,000 medical and aesthetic practices, with products sold in over 50 countries throughout the world. It’s now also available in South Africa.
Formulating products that improve the health of your skin is a cornerstone of PCA SKIN. The ingredients are hand selected for bio-compatibility in conjunction with best-in-class support and delivery vehicles to ensure optimum results. Daily care and professional treatment products are developed to work together in customized regimens that deliver healthy, beautiful, younger-looking skin and are tested in clinical trials with patients through medical practices. A deep respect for human health, animals and the environment plays an integral role in researching and developing each skincare innovation. This is why all PCA SKIN products are not tested on animals and are free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, mineral oil, petrolatum, lanolin and phthalates.
I received two products to test…
-The Rejuvenating Serum (R1711 for 30ml) is exceptionally good. It’s an antioxidant serum that fights and prevents signs of aging by protecting the skin cells using plant stem extract and growth factor. The key ingredients that make up the potent epidermal growth factor are Peptides, Antioxidants, Essential Oils, Aloe Vera, Niacinamide and Vitamin E. The epidermal growth factor signals skin cells to multiply, thereby fortifying your complexion and decreasing the depth of lines. Antioxidants and calming bisabolol leave your skin looking even and glowing while vitamin E protects your delicate texture by neutralizing age-causing free radicals.
– PCA Skin ReBalance Moisturiser (R837 for 50ml) is a light, fast absorbing moisturiser packed with Vitamin E. It’s extremely soothing and calming making it ideal for those with sensitive skin types or those who use retinol as part of their skincare routine.
I think we will be hearing a lot about this range. The products are well formulated and I definitely want to experience one of their chemical peels of which they offer 12 types in South Africa and 14 abroad.
