Filorga Skin Structure

The past two weeks I have been testing out a fabulous new serum from Filorga…their Skin Structure Serum. I have admittedly never tried any Filorga products and must say this introduction impressed me tremendously.

The bottle itself is made with thick luxurious glass and to me all serums should have droppers for easy application. The scent is so lovely, a very soothing white floral that makes one feel clean and tranquil. The scent of any face cream/serum/toner is super important to me as if it is too powerful it can easily become headache inducing and I have found that many other people have this issue to.

Three small drops are enough to cover my entire face, the serum glides on and feels silky soft but also doesn’t feel silicone heavy (a huge plus for me). It absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t feel sticky or heavy.

Now let’s get to the good stuff…according to Filorga most women are actually more concerned with sagging skin than wrinkles. This was interesting to me but the more I thought about it, the more I realised just how true that is. So many products on the market target wrinkles but sagging skin creates more of a dull tired old appearance and addressing that can make a more dramatic difference.

Filorga’s Skin-Structure treatment restores the structure and density of the skin to lift and tauten facial contours in three ways:

• Boosting skin density
• Redefining facial structure and boosting volume
• Visibly lifting the skin

It contains some powerful fighters to help achieve this. A volume-restoring active ingredient,Voluform, targets the cells responsible for increasing density and firmness, plumping up hollow-looking areas of the face. It also restores the dynamic strength of the skin cells resulting in visibly firmer skin.

Collaxyl, a collagen peptide, boosts the synthesis of the different major components of the skin tissue, thereby improving skin density from within.

Hyaluronic acid and Filorga’s world-renowned NCTF complex visibly restore skin tissue due to the biological stimulation of the skin cells.

Dynalift, a plant-based active ingredient originating from the sorghum grain, creates a firmer structure on the surface of the outermost layer of the epidermis. This produces a smoothing effect, as the average volume and depth of wrinkles is reduced by 25.8%.

I may not have too many issues with skin sagging but it has been the party season, hot African sun sure does take its toll on one’s skin and the firmness of it as well as being a very stressful time of the year which plays havoc on my skin generally this lead to my skin feeling rather dull and lack luster. Also a bit of facial contour tautening is always a plus so I was excited to see if any visible results were noted and I am happy to say there certainly was a difference.

I am now a full on serum convert as well as a Filorga fan. My skin has been glowing in such a youthful way, it also feels so incredibly soft and I have noted a decrease in fine lines around my eye area (possibly due to the Dynalift ingredient). I have religiously been using it every evening these past couple weeks and needing so few drops each night means that 30 ml can stretch out for quite a few months meaning the R785 price tag is perfectly justifiable considering how effective it is.

Skin-Structure retails for R785.00(30ml) and will be available at selected Edgars and Red Square stores from February 2014.
