Everyday Essence Review

Everything Beauty By May 23, 2012
I have used Essence’s nail polishes and eyeshadows before but in my Catrice launch hamper there were a few products from an Essence line I did not know about, the MySkin range.
I have to remove my makeup before bed, always have even when I am feeling beyond lazy so sometimes cleansing wipes are just the answer but my skin always feels a bit oily after using most of the wipes on the market. I decided to try these mostly because they smell incredibly divine, the fragrance is bamboo and pomegranate so imagine fresh and fruity. They really do work to remove all traces of makeup, base, eyeshadow, mascara and left my skin feeling moisturised but not oily at all. I then swore to keep a pack of these with me when travelling, imagine my surprise when I found out they are only R19,95!!! For 25 wipes that are insanely cheap.
The next product was the 4-in-1 cleansing cream also in pomegranate and bamboo so similar yummy smell albeit not as strong.
R29.95
My skin tends to be quite pedantic in general when it comes to cleaner, toner and face cream and I prefer to stick to the tried and tested so won’t be swopping over to this cleanser but it is great for younger skins (the target market for Essence anyway) as it says it is pore refining, mattifying and deeply cleansing.
The other product I tried out was moisturising cream-gel in lime and cucumber. Very refreshing and oil-free I really like this product and it reminds me of The Body Shop mattifying gel in consistency and moisture.
R29.95
It has a very slight, subtle shimmer to it which will look does create a bit of a “glow” which put me off, to be honest, I can see how it works on younger skin but not really every day for me.
Overall a fairly good range and perfect for their target market, also at such good prices they are perfect for those tighter budget months. All Essence products are available at Clicks.
P.S I will be doing more fashion orientated and outfit posts from next week as will finally be done with exams.
