The super team at Caribbean tan sent me a massive press drop packed with pretty much their entire range.

At first I thought it a little odd to send this now in what feels like the middle of winter (I know, spring is around the corner but it’s still freezing!) but then I realised that now is the perfect time to start building on a tan and to also get rid of all those dead skin cells. I have been a fan of the brand since high school days when I used it the minute we had to swap over from winter uniform to summer uniform AKA expose our pale winter legs to the world once more.

So let’s get started on running through the products that Caribbean have to offer.

First off prepping the skin is vital to not only ensure that your tan will last but also to prevent patchiness. I have raved about Caribbean Tan’s Cinnamon & Coconut Skin Smoothing Exfoliator (R54,95) numerous times on the blog, vlogs and on Snapchat. It smells divine and does a great job ridding the skin of dead skin cells. Use this before even considering which self-tan application to use.

To help keep your skin silky soft and to aid in prolonging your tan, Caribbean Tan also have a Milk & Honey Hydrating Body Butter (R54,95).

Caribbean Tan offer different methods of applying your tan as well as both instant tanners and gradual tanners. They also offer 3 “shades” A, B and C. A being very pale, B is fair but tans easily and C would be your olive skin tones ladies. I fall into category B but Caribbean Tan kindly sent me both A and B to try out.

They also have various different applications including Tan in a Can- Instant (R94,95), Tan in a Can- Gradual (R94,95), Tanning Spritzer (R94,95) and my personal favourite Gradual Bronzing Mousse (R94,95).

My secret weapon to create even toned legs is to apply the Caribbean Tan Tinted Skin Glow Shimmer (R54,95). Be warned the tint is quite strong so do use gloves or a mitt to apply as overly tinted palms can sometimes occur. This shimmer is phenomenal though and really looks so natural on.

I’ll be doing a more in-depth review on the tanning application with a before and after sometime in September.

All Caribbean Tan products are available at Clicks, Dis-Chem and selected pharmacies nationwide.
